Data Assistant

Department: Data Processing/Billing
Location: Syracuse, NY

The Data Assistant is an entry level position responsible for supporting the Business Analytics Department. This includes importing, transforming, validating and modeling data to meet the needs of the organization with the purpose of supporting business decisions, process efficiency, compliance and regulatory reporting requirements, as well as general administrative support.

Performance Responsibilities and Standards:

  • Implement reports/queries and dashboards in collaboration with the Business Analytics Department in response to various requests and regulatory requirements
  • Assess and validate vital data used by the organization to ensure data integrity
  • Track, develop, and monitor data for submissions to regulatory agencies
  • Develop and maintain documentation to support reports & queries, and facilitate understanding amongst all stake holders
  • Provide courteous, responsive, respectful, and knowledgeable customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher in analytical field, concrete plans to reach this threshold, or comparable level of overall experience accessing, preparing & analyzing data
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail
  • Adaptability to change
  • High ethical standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Experience in data analytics preferred
  • Experience with SQL / Power BI / VBA / R preferred
  • This role is required to report in person to the Nascentia organizational office in Syracuse, New York Monday- Friday 8am-4:30pm.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk 90% of the day. Frequent sitting, standing, walking.
  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written or verbal communication.
  • Ability to express oneself verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to engage in real-time phone communication with clients, caregivers, and providers as a core job function.
  • Extended periods of computer use.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category III - Employee who rarely has contact with blood and body fluids
