The Entitlement Coordinator assists members with the Medicaid benefits, including applications, understanding, and applying for any other benefits that they may be entitled to. Assist the MLTC Operations Team with a wide array of departmental initiatives.
Position Description:
- Assist with all referrals made to the Entitlement Department involving this such as: Medicaid benefits, spenddown, heating and food stamp assistance, and housing.
- Collaborates with the care management teams regarding member needs.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a timely and courteous manner
- Remain up-to-date with changes in OHP/Medicaid and Social Security Disability benefits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Local Department of Social Services to help mitigate member eligibility issues
- Document all appropriate activities in Electronic Medical Record.
- Provide support for ad-hoc and planned departmental projects.
- Participate in departmental meetings and attend all scheduled staff meetings and staff training as applicable.
- Support QA activities as directed.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in business, liberal arts, or any related field or equivalent required.
- One year of customer service or human service experience required.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort, ability, and desire to advance technically and understand industry standards.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to identify potential issues and participate in their resolution.
- Proficiency with computer systems, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and various software applications.
- Valid NYS driving license required.
- Must be skillful in verbal and oral communication, interpersonal relationships and other related personal skills, such as self-discipline and time management.
Physical Requirements:
- Speech, visual, and hearing ability sufficient to express and comprehend written and verbal communication
- Ability to sit or stand 90 percent of the day
- Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category III – Employee who rarely has contact with blood and body fluids.
